The Picasso class introduces our youngest artists to an exciting variety of sensory experiences. Children play, experiment, and create at each of our five activity stations, which they explore at their own pace, to build self-esteem and confidence. Stations include a sensory box, easel, messy table, play dough activity, and project station. Activities at each station change every week. You can expect a variety of educational projects every class! Each class ends with story time.
2 – 5 years
The Monet class includes station play, but allows students to experience a group project. Children discover the joys of creative expression by experiencing four activity stations, including a sensory box, easel, messy table, and play-dough station. Activities at each station change every week. Afterward, the entire class meets together for a teacher-guided project. We introduce a variety of supplies to further develop students’ fine-motor skills. Each class ends with story time.
3 – 4 years
The Chagall class is an expansion of the Monet class, offered for older students. Children will begin with station play, which includes four activity stations that allow for experimentation at their level. Activities at each station change every week. Then, the entire class meets together for a teacher-directed art lesson and project. Students will learn real art techniques and vocabulary, as our teachers discuss concepts like pattern, color theory, and symmetry. Both two-dimensional and three-dimensional works of art will be explored.
The Artsy Explorers class is the perfect transition between classes in the TMA classroom, and the Studio 356 classroom. It allows students the freedom of sensory play and the structure of teacher-directed projects. Each and every class will be different. Students will experiment with different concoctions, learn art skills, and get creative making craft projects. This class features a little bit of everything to cater to a variety of students allowing for creativity and individuality.
