Class Confirmation Policy

  • Classes: You will receive a class confirmation, by email, prior to your first scheduled class. Please save this email, as is contains important information, as well as a list of class dates. 
  • Other Programs: You will not receive a confirmation for these events.

Refund Policy

  • Class Sessions: If you cancel before the first class of the session, you will be refunded the cost of the entire session, less a 10% non-refundable administrative fee.  Once classes have begun, refunds are issued as a TMA credit to your account. Credits expire one year from date issued.
  • Parties: A $100 deposit is required to secure your date when booking your party. This deposit is non-refundable. In the event of illness, inclement weather, or circumstances beyond our or your control, you will be able to transfer the deposit to another date.
  • Events & Workshops: We do not issue refunds for any Event or Workshop (including but not limited to Day of Play, and Mini Camps). You may request, in writing, that a credit be issued to your account if you cannot attend. Credits expire one year from date issued. Please direct all requests to: studio@themessyartist.com
  • We reserve the right to cancel or change our class/event schedule based on the required minimum enrollment. You will be notified in advance of any cancellation or change. In the event that TMA cancels an event, you will be issued a full refund.

Make-Up Policy

  • You are entitled to make-up any class you miss. You can sign up ONLINE.
  • Make-up seats are limited, and are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
  • All make-ups must be completed within the current session before or after your child’s absence.
  • Your make-ups will expire at the end of the current session.
  • You may bring a sibling or friend to use your student’s make-up.
  • You can do your make-up in any age-appropriate class.
  • If you cannot attend your make-up, you must cancel it 4 hours before the start of class  to avoid it counting against your entitled make-ups.

Photo and Media Policy

  • Unless we are otherwise informed, registering your child for any TMA program grants us permission to take photographs of your child.
  • Photographs may be used for (but not limited to): promotional emails, social media postings, on the web, and in brochures.
  • We do not sell photos of you or your child or any other personal information to any third party.
  • We will never display your child’s full name in conjunction with their photograph on any social media platform unless we are granted permission by you.

Allergen Policy

  • We are not a peanut-free environment. However, we are peanut conscious. Any food or beverage that is served by The Messy Artist is peanut free. 
  • We cannot guarantee, however, the allergen content of outside food brought in by other customers.

Emergency Weather Cancellation Policy

  • Classes: In the event of inclement weather, the director reserves the right to cancel classes for all or any portion of the day. These details will be posted on our homepage by 8AM for morning classes and 1PM for afternoon and evening classes. Please schedule a make-up for the cancelled class. 
  • Parties: In the event of inclement weather, the director reserves the right to cancel parties for all or any portion of the day. For 10:45 parties, decisions are made by 8AM; for 1:30 parties, decisions are made by 10:30AM; for 4:00 parties, decisions are made by 1PM; and for 6:30 parties decisions are made by 3PM.

Tag-a-long Policy

  • A fee (determined by the length of the session) will apply to any tag-a-long of a student in our caregiver-and-me program.
  • A tag-a-long is defined as a sibling of a student in our program, who will turn the age of our program during the span of the session.

Drop-Off Policy

  • All students must be signed in before the start of class for all drop-off classes.
  • For all drop-off classes, children are under the direct supervision of our staff for the duration of class time. Caregivers assume all responsibility for their children both before class start time and after class end time. 
  • Students 3rd grade and up are allowed to be dropped off in our waiting room, no more than 5 minutes prior to class start time without an adult. We accept responsibility for these children, during their wait time.
  • Children enrolled in our Creative Kiddos class for ages 3 – 5 must be toilet-trained.
  • We warmly welcome students with special needs. Depending on the nature of your child’s needs, we may require an additional staff member to shadow them. This comes at an additional fee. All fees will be discussed with you prior to registration.

Personal Property Disclaimer

  • We use some materials that stain or stick to clothing and other personal items. We recommend that you leave personal items outside the classroom.
  • We are not responsible for any damage that may occur to your personal belongings.
  • Please keep track of your belongings. We are not responsible for items that are lost or stolen.
